Below are some tips on how to be an effective and knowledgeable voter without exhausting yourself. As many of you know, I’m a deputy voter registrar (which means I can register people to vote) and I encourage everyone who is able to get out and vote early and often.*

Coming up we have a special election on May 5, 2018, for Houston City Council District K following the death of Larry Green. The voter registration deadline is April 5. Then on May 22, 2018, we have the primary runoff election (candidates who didn’t get over 50% of their party’s vote in March). The voter registration deadline is April 23. The Voters Guide compiled for the March 6 primary election still applies since there are no new candidates.

*kidding. It’s illegal to vote more than once in an election. Please don’t get yourself arrested for voter fraud. That’s not a thing.

1. Pull up your sample ballot from harrisvotes.com to print or write down names since you can’t bring your phone into the booth.
