3. HOUSTON CARIBBEAN FESTIVAL
Tuesday, July 4, 2017 – Sunday, July 9, 2017
This event kicks off on Tuesday at Capitol Bar with Carnival Day Fest with a series of events through Sunday, July 9. The final event on Sunday is the Carnival in the Park and Parade of Bands at Tom Bass Park. Tickets for events range from $15 to $50. Learn more here

4. SUNDOWN AT THE GROVE
Wednesday, July 5, 2017, 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
It’s the 6th annual Sundown at The Grove – the premier destination for culinary pairings of food and local, craft beer! This year there will be more of a festival atmosphere where you have the freedom to purchase tickets to redeem for beer, food and more! Wine pairings are also available. STRAIGHT NO CHASER WEDNESDAYS: THE ROOTS – THINGS FALL APART

The Straight No Chaser Wednesdays team is always hard at work curating the ultimate listening experiences for true music connoisseurs. Raise your drink with DJ Flash Gordon Parks and hosts Savvi and Equality from H.I.S.D. 5. FLASHBACK WEDNESDAYS (DEATH ROW VS BAD BOY)
Wednesday, July 5, 2017, 8:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.

6. REGGAE WEDNESDAY AT THE FLAT

This weekly event features roots and dancehall music each week with no cover. If you get there early, happy hour is from 4 – 7 p.m. but there are drink specials all night and the kitchen stays open until 1 a.m. Learn more here

7. LEAN STARTUP: PROBLEM VALIDATION
Thursday, July 6, 2017, 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
The next Lean Startup Circle meetup will focus on Problem validation and address the essential question of “what’s the best way to validate assumptions about my startup ideas?”. By the end of this session, you’ll know how to develop a testable hypothesis and validate assumptions by talking to potential customers. Be sure to RSVP early. 8. 3RD ANNUAL TASTE OF NEW ORLEANS FEAT. BIG FREEDIA

9. SHADES OF MATTER WITH HTXPEOPLEPROJECT

htxpeopleproject (Morganne Nikole and Bria Lauren) will screen their most recent documentary film, c r e a t i n g s p a c e., and workshop a think-space conversation to encourage individuality, freedom, and openness through a wellspring of artistic expressions and non-linear thinking. 10. YEMI ALADE LIVE IN CONCERT
Saturday, July 8, 2017, 8:00 p.m. – 4:00 a.m.
Yemi Eberechi Alade, simply known as Yemi Alade, is a Nigerian Afropop singer and songwriter. She gained prominence after winning the Peak Talent Show in 2009 and is best known for her hit single “Johnny” that has over 70 million views on YouTube. Learn more here
